Project Description:
Jam Session is a self portrait documentary. The assignment was to find one aspect of our lives that helps or impacts other people and let them tell their story about it. After much thought I realized that the biggest impact I had on others was coaching and teaching others how to jamskate. Jamskating is a combination of breakdancing, hip-hop dancing, and gymnastics performed on quad roller skates. I traced my steps back to where I learned the basics and who I started teaching from there. After that it shifted to another location where it got more involved and more competitive.
This project was shot using a Panasonic DVX100, a Lowell Light kit, and a wireless lavalier microphone then edited in Final Cut Pro.
