Project Description:
Pogwich is a short film that I had worked on for 5 months; from concept, to filming, to editing. It started as a script for a class in 2006 that got tossed aside once completed. When my concept development class in 2008 required a script to thoroughly work out and visualize it came back into the light. After working out many details and storyboards it was time for it to move on to the next step. That step was budgeting, prop collecting, casting, location scouting and equipment reservations. That class soon ended and I thought the script would once again dissapear into my files. However, it did not. A directing class followed in which I needed to film a short film, what better than to film one that has been so carefully planned out. As the filming date got closer cast and crew were brought together for an initial read through of the script to determing any changes that needed to be made. On location equipment was minimal, Panasonic DVX100 camera, tripod, boom pole, shotgun microphone and a golf umbrella. The umbrella was used to block wind noise and did a great job. The final editing stages took about three weeks to complete with an initial edit, final edit, and sound editing during that time. The sound is not what I would like it to be but I worked with what I had.
