Motion Graphics
Motion graphics were more of a side note for me while attending the Illinois Institute of Art. There were a few beginner introduction courses where I learned the basics of Adobe Aftereffects. Aside from these course projects I didn't get to spend much time working with the program; resulting in a basic knowledge of how to use it. Below are a few projects that were created for those introductory classes.
Title Sequence
Launch Project

Project Description:
The title sequence was my most intensive motion graphics project for this course. We were to take any movie analyze the existing title sequence, the elements used, as well as the movie theme to create a new title sequence for the movie. I chose to work with the movie The Final Cut. After watching the movie a few times I decided I wanted to incorporate the use of the graphics used when loading information into the computer of the cutter (editor). To recreate this I made a large photoshop file with a few hundred images and imported it into Aftereffects. From there I used 3D space to layer the images and create the scrolling effect. After that I wanted to keep with the sorting theme of the information going into the computer so I used a large space in Aftereffects and had the virtual camera move around the screen to reveal the next part. The names for the credits were all individually animates as well.
Logo Build
Launch Build #1

Launch Build #2
RT: 00:00:05 (no audio)
Launch Build #3
RT: 00:00:05 (no audio)
Project Description:
The logo build was assigned as a project to help our creative sides overcome a design that was already present for an existing company and/or product. I chose to create a logo build for the Popsicle brand popsicles. When I looked at the original logo I saw many possibilities since it was created out of circular shapes and the three primary colors. After story boarding 15 different builds I chose the three I liked the best that were the most unique and went with them. Each one took a lot more time than I would have imagined a 5 second logo build to take, but that's part of the learning experience.
Countdown Leader
Launch Countdown
RT: 00:00:05
Project Description:
The countdown was assigned as a project
to overcome a transition challenge. The numbers were to countdown and transition without using fades, wipes, or cuts as well as creative numbers. The concept of the countdown became the hardest part. After a few ideas I came up with the idea to use a mirror moving around the screen revealing various things that created the number; such as 5 die lined up in the pattern of the 5 on the die it self.
